Rapid POC

Rapid POC: prove it on your data in 14 days

A Rapid POC at Databotiq is a fixed-scope, fixed-price working prototype. We build an app shell, a backend connected to a bounded slice of your real systems, and a small operator surface to demo it. You use it to evaluate accuracy, speed, and integration risk before funding a production build. It ends with a written go or no-go recommendation, not a vague roadmap.

What ships in the window
  • A working app shell with reproducible runs against agreed acceptance tests.
  • An integration spine to at least one production-adjacent system (read-only unless you approve writes).
  • Metrics table: precision and recall (or task success), latency percentiles, and cost per thousand operations where relevant.
  • Risk memo: data handling, residual failure modes, and what production would require.
  • Handoff checklist: monitoring, drift detection, human review queues, and a security review pack.

Fixed scope, fixed price, written quote after a short scoping call.

Why this format works

Bounded, integrated, measured.

Three constraints make Rapid POCs honest: a short window, a fixed scope, and real systems instead of synthetic samples.

14 days

Fixed-scope build on your stack. Not a multi-quarter science fair, not a slide deck dressed up as a roadmap.

Fixed scope, fixed price

We quote the POC in writing after a short scoping call. No surprises mid-sprint and no scope creep without your written change request.

Real data, real systems

We integrate where the value actually lives. Your CRM, your Shopify, your shared inbox, your spreadsheets, and the unfriendly portals you still depend on.

Timeline

Two weeks, four checkpoints.

We prefer honest dates over heroic weekends. If access stalls, the timeline shifts and and we tell you immediately.

Day 1

Align acceptance tests

We agree the smallest set of measurable outcomes that decide go or no-go, then unblock data and access in parallel.

Days 2 to 6

Build and integrate

App shell, backend spike, and at least one production-adjacent integration. Mid-window demo on real samples.

Days 7 to 13

Measure and harden

Run acceptance tests on real traffic, capture latency and accuracy, and surface residual risks honestly.

Day 14

Recommendation pack

Written go or no-go with metrics, risks, and a production milestone plan, or a stop memo with reasons.

Engagement basics

What we need from you, and what it costs.

What we need from you

  • A technical owner who can grant API keys, VPN paths, or VPC peering as required.
  • A business owner who can answer exception questions within hours, not weeks.
  • A decision-maker who can sign go or no-go on scope expansion, or stop without shame.

Discovery and DPA paperwork is in motion in parallel, and we will not block on it.

What it costs

Rapid POCs are fixed-scope engagements quoted in writing after a short scoping call. We will never expand spend without a written change request you approve.

Change requests are explicit and signed before any extra spend. No mystery invoices.

Handoff

How it ends: production handoff.

If you go forward, we translate the POC into a production milestone plan: hardening, SLOs, monitoring, access controls, and model change management. If you stop, you still keep artifacts that make the next vendor cycle cheaper, because your acceptance tests and metrics survive.

Production milestone artifacts
  • Monitoring and SLOs
  • Access controls and least privilege
  • Model change management
  • Operator runbooks
  • Drift detection and review queues

If you stop after the POC, you keep these artifacts. They make the next vendor cycle cheaper.

FAQ

Answers to the questions buyers actually ask.

Honest, specific answers about scope, pricing, and what production looks like. If something isn't covered here, ask us directly.

Is the Rapid POC production-ready on day fourteen?

It is production-directional, not production-complete. The point is evidence and risk surfacing. Production adds monitoring, hardening, broader variant coverage, and operational runbooks.

Can you work fully inside our VPC?

Yes, when your security model requires it. That choice affects timeline and cost, and we scope accordingly.

What if results are bad?

That is a successful outcome. You learn early with a bounded spend. The memo should say no-go with reasons, not optimism.

Do you train on our data for other clients?

No. Your data is used for your engagement. Training and retention terms are documented in your agreements.

A short note is enough. We will reply within one business day with a written quote after a short scoping call.
